How can I determine which RV is best for me?

We have all seen an RV of some kind driving down the road or parked in our neighborhood. Perhaps you've asked yourself, "What does it look like inside?" Or "Why did they choose that RV over another one?" This page provides general information and will answer some basic questions about RVs.

We'd like to help you find out what kind of RV might be best for you. Here at McGaugh RV Center, we have broad spectrum of RVs from fold up campers all the way up to the large Class A motorhomes. Not everyone can afford a luxurious Class A Motorhome, nor does a Class A motorhome meet everybody's needs or lifestyle. Below we explain the different types of RV's and what you can expect from them.

If you have any questions about the following material feel free to submit a question to our expert staff or just give us a call at 479-751-2174 or 888-544-4401. Have fun and "Let the Good Times Roll!"

  • Folding Trailers are a lightweight unit with sides that collapse for towing and storage, the folding camping trailer combines the experience of open-air tent camping with sleeping comforts, basic conveniences and weather protection found in many other RVs.
  • Truck Campers are units that are loaded onto, or affixed to, the bed or chassis of a pickup truck, the truck camper is popular for backroad journeys, accessing remote locales and family recreational camping.
  • Towable Trailers are units designed to be towed by a car, van or pickup by means of a bumper or frame hitch. The travel trailer provides the comforts of a summer home and is perfectly adaptable for weekend getaways and family vacations.
  • Fifth Wheel Trailers are designed to be affixed and towed by a pickup truck equipped with special hitch in the truck bed. These two-level units can provide the greatest living experience of all towable RVs and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Fifth-wheel travel trailers come equipped with many of the comforts of home,  some even come with built-in fireplaces, and are great for weekend getaways, family vacations, and for some, full time living.
  • Toybox Trailers are the ultimate in both cargo capacity and living comfort! The large rear area easily converts from cargo space into convenient living quarters. They are perfect for the active camper.
  • The Class C motorhome is the mid-size of the motorized RVs and provides many of the conveniences of the larger Class A motorhome in a scaled-down version and, of course, at a lower price. The Class C is built on an automotive manufactured van frame with an attached cab section.
  • The Class B motorhome is even a smaller than the Class C while offering many of the conveniences of both the Class C and Class A motorhomes. They are easy to park and maneuver and easier on fuel consumption too.
  • The Class A motorhome is the largest, most luxurious of the motorized RVs -- a virtual "home on wheels", fully loaded and equipped for short trips, lengthy vacations, and full time living. The Class A is entirely constructed on a bare, specially designed motor vehicle chassis, provides lots of storage and some of them can tow vehicles up to 10,000 lbs.
